In John 8, Jesus took a bold step of compassion that brought healing to a hurting woman. Afterward, he declared to all who were watching —

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

This Christmas, we’re celebrating Jesus as the Light of the World. We’re also reflecting on our call to Share the Light by taking bold steps like he did. To that end, I have a challenge for you.

At Lake Norman Baptist, we’re several months into our 4LKN Project. We’re taking bold steps in our ministries and campus environments to share the light of Jesus with people all around Lake Norman. So far, over 100 individuals and families have pledged $6.4M toward our 2-year $9M goal. It’s been a tremendous start. Many have taken truly bold steps of generosity and are making a big impact. If that's you, thank you!

This year-end giving season, we have an opportunity to take another bold step forward. The pre-construction phase for our new community spaces will be completed in December, and we’ll be ready to break ground in March. In order to do that, we need to hit some key goals. It’s the biggest year-end challenge we’ve ever set, but I believe God has given us a unique vision for sharing the Light of the World with the next generation, and it’s a challenge worth pursuing.
